S.Y. Agnon, the Twentieth Century master of Jewish expression and Nobel prize winner, often turned to themes from the Jewish calendar, weaving classic Jewish language learned in his Polish shtetl with the chaos and crisis he confronted in 20th century Europe and Eretz Yisrael. Texts will be available in the original Hebrew as well as in English translation.
